Dr. James Loden

Dr. James C. Loden is a board-certified ophthalmologist, fellowship-trained LASIK and cataract specialist, and founder of Loden Vision Centers. He serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine.
A native of Nashville, Dr. Loden earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee and completed his ophthalmology residency there before pursuing advanced fellowship training in corneal transplants, refractive surgery and anterior segment reconstruction in Indianapolis.
In 1999, he returned to Nashville and founded Loden Vision Centers, where he has performed thousands of successful procedures including LASIK, cataract surgery, refractive lens exchange and corneal transplants.
Dr. Loden is widely recognized as a pioneer in his field and was the first surgeon in Tennessee to perform laser cataract surgery.
He regularly presents research and lectures on advanced surgical techniques at national and international ophthalmology conferences.
Dr. Loden is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and serves on the board of the Society for Excellence in Eyecare.
He lives in Nashville with his wife and two children and is active in community and conservation efforts.
